Every one who is worth his salt aspires of developing into a hero and pit his skills against a difficult —but not necessarily hazardous— enemy. Every genuine sportfisherman thus aspires about catching the record-breaking prey if he may, or in any case one that can battle him to giving up, won or not is immaterial. He asks for at any rate one tussle that he can relate stories about to his children and (mostly) grandchildren, one that could try his skills to the end. The swordfishes of the Gulf of Mexico can offer this necessity of every serious sportfisherman.
